Unique multi layered folklore wall art, celebrating Litha, also known as Midsummer or Summer Solstice. Each one-off screenprint is built up of several individual layers, starting with flat blocks of bright colour. I also paint directly on to a blank silkscreen, pulling the ink through to create textures and a sense of movement. I love to push the boundaries of what screenprinting can be. This one-off folklore wall art will bring the vivid colours of Midsummer into your home.
An important date in British folklore, the Summer Solstice, celebrates the the longest day and shortest night of the year. The collection is called Almanac as a nod to the traditional calendars of the year. They were used to check moon phases and other important dates and celebrations throughout the year.
Hand printed in my studio in Salford. Free UK shipping or collection from Manchester Craft and Design Centre available.
