The Almanac collection of contemporary art prints reflects my love of mythology and folklore. I have selected the festival of Samhain as my starting point for this unique lilac, black and blue contemporary screenprint. Built up over multiple layers, I use various screenprinting techniques until I am happy with the composition. You can see the whole collection here.
Pronounced sow-inn, Samhain is also known as Hallowe’en. The original Celtic festival marks the end of harvest time and the point at which the crops are stored for the winter. Samhain is also known as the Feast of the Dead and is traditionally a time to remember those who have passed and honour the ancestors that came before.
